I guess I just don't personally think society is that progressive. Every guy on every show is Bisexual? I doubt that. Plus a lot of really hardcore slash fangirls think anything that isn't, "yes, you're right, they're in love!", is insulting/disrespectful. Look at the producer who came out and said Dean wasn't Bisexual. He was mobbed to the point of having to suspend his twitter for a while. Slash fandom can be...a scary and angry place, and I can understand why some writers/show runners would rather say, "No, no, no, lalala"
