But I don't think that post is saying they are totes canon. It's just about interpreting the directing choices and body language.

Personally if I was going to fight for better representation of the female gaze in media, respectful statements from the writers of Sherlock would not be my priority. Shows condemned for queerbaiting have had writers acknowledge subtext and nobody was too excited about that.

I guess I just don't personally think society is that progressive. Every guy on every show is Bisexual? I doubt that. Plus a lot of really hardcore slash fangirls think anything that isn't, "yes, you're right, they're in love!", is insulting/disrespectful. Look at the producer who came out and said Dean wasn't Bisexual. He was mobbed to the point of having to suspend his twitter for a while. Slash fandom can be...a scary and angry place, and I can understand why some writers/show runners would rather say, "No, no, no, lalala"
