I agree. I prefer to enjoy the characters and the show and really want nothing to do with fawning or getting to know the actors. I appreciate the hard work and all, but just because I like a character they play doesn't mean I'm going to like them. And all too often an actor or writer will say stupid shit that will worm its way into my brain and take some of the shine off of my enjoyment of the show. Because they're just people, and people aren't perfect. But still, I'd rather there was more of a divide.

This is exactly what I was trying to say. Although sometimes it's the reactions to the stuff they say that can be just as bad, IMO. (See yesterday's threads, frex.)

Same. I don't mind learning a bit about the actors or creators, I fawn over Christopher Lee to an embarrassing extent, but i doesn't really affect my opinion of the things they're involved in.
