Ngl I LOVE dark Batman so I don't mind The Dark Knight trilogy. I just think it works...or maybe it's because I prefer a lot of the comics from that sort of "darker" era (for example, I enjoy Arkham Asylum: A Serious House... even though the art is hard to love.)

But I don't want every super hero film ever to be "dark and gritty" so even as a DC fan, in film I prefer the MCU overall. I don't get the hate for all the humour in those films. I had a great time at the midnight premier of Thor The Dark World precisely because the atmosphere was awesome during the lighter scenes.

DC's animated universe kicks arse though.

Yup. Marvel for movies, DC for cartoons, and in comics whichever is currently being least shitty and/or has more of my current favourite characters being cool.

Helps I grew up on the Timm!verse. A:EMH, much as I love it, just doesn't compare.
