I didn't really like the blue contacts, I know it's a elf thing but I preferred when in LotR they slipped up and his eyes were brown... it looks good with the blond hair IMO.

I don't know why people bash on him because I've always found him suited to the characters he plays. Haters always gonna hate.

He was great in DoS. I loved seeing a more serious and in-command Legolas, because it makes his future in LotR and friendship with Gimli all the more important.

Same. I'm neutral on the contacts, but his role was one of my favorite parts of the movie. He was so princely, and it was really cool to see him with other elves (besides, like, Haldir) and to know where he was going to end up after the trilogy and how much he was going to change. Especially since elves typically don't change as much as other characters.

EVERYONE in Lotr seems to have gray eyes. Tolkien must have really had a thing for it lol.

He had blue contacts in LotR. It just wasn't always obvious depending on the lighting (and also I think sometimes he just didn't have them in).
