My big problem with the DC movies is that they seem allergic to their 'super' 'heroes'. Being a) super or b) heroes.

1989's Batman and Batman Returns were rather dark, but hey guess what Batman was still a hero. Same with the Batman: Animated series, which shit was hella dark for a 'kids' program. I have no idea what the Batman in the Dark Knights movie was, because he sure the hell wasn't Batman or a hero.
