Does the entire MCU not exist for you? They're all recent, and there are a lot more of them -- because you're really just talking about the TDK trilogy and MoS here, right? That's four movies.

Anyway, I like it that the two companies are dedicated to doing things differently, so that we can cater to all tastes. Because I guarantee you, if the DC movies were "bright and fun" there'd be people complaining that all superhero movies are too cheesy to take seriously.

I loved Justice League and every DC related cartoon you can think of as a child. And if I want to watch that or a silly, fun Batman movie with George Clooney in it, then I'll watch that. There's tons of fun DC material to choose from that isn't the comics.

I guess my opinion is unpopular here on this, but I actually like the dark, gritty spins on the new superhero movies. It gives me something different to taste. That doesn't make it better or worse in my opinion compared to the campy stuff. It's just different. And sometimes it's entertaining, at least for me, to try something a little different.
