Re: Holiday Ranting and Venting Thread

I asked my family for a diary and some books from home and offered to pay postage because I'm in America. They sent gift cards (in US $) and said to buy them that way because it would cost less. I wanted everything from home! I can handle the books with American spellings if I have to but I need a diary from home so I know the right holidays. And since the gift cards are in US $, they aren't enough to buy a diary from home and have dispatched here. And the diary I most wanted can't be sent here because Bright Side products aren't licensed for sale outside the UK );

Er...you know Calender's in the us have dates for non-american holidays, right? Like...holidays most Americans haven't even heard of.

Ayrt

Ahh...okay. I've never seen one that didn't, but I'll admit I don't always pay attention to calendars.

ayrt - yeah, in my experience the ones that do are a lot pricier, and they usually say on them that they include Australian, Canadian, and UK holidays. :)

Only some of them do, usually only for a few non-American holidays only from specific countries (if it listed every non-American holiday from the major countries, at least half of the year would be holidays).

Though I suspect it has more to do with format and preferred products. As someone who is INCREDIBLY picky with notebooks and pens I use to write for leisure - yes I can use others, but that doesn't mean I want to if I'm allowed a choice - I can sympathize with wanting a specific planner (which I think is what OP means by "diary"?).
