So.... SanSan shippers are the tinhats of the GoT fandom, yeah? They'd be comparable to like... the Gossers in the Supernatural fandom, or the people who gave the hobbits manips of them fucking?

That's the impression I'm getting here, anyway.

The difference being that Sansan is canon and has been reiterated by GRRM himself and various people working on the show.

Uh huh. But that doesn't mean the ~romance that the shippers are claiming is actually canon. No one is denying they have some sort of relationship. They've met and interacted, it's impossible for them not to have some kind of relationship. But that doesn't make the ship canon.

No, I wasn't trying to reduce their relationship to 'they've interacted', I just meant that of course it's canon that they have a relationship, it just doesn't mean it's a romantic one.

Agreed. I think fandom (not only this one) has forgotten what a ship being 'canon' means.
Ned/Cat is canon, cause they were in an actual relationship and the 'canon' stays even after the relationship ended or one of them died. Jaime/Cersei is canon.
SanSan is not and that has nothing to do with people denying any sort of relationship.
For example, Brienne being in love with Renly is canon, but the Brienne/Renly ship is not.

Eh, except that the Sansan shippers (here) seem to be unable to admit that other people may see their relationship as platonic. Anytime someone says 'that doesn't necessarily mean romantic', they get attacked. Seems less like a shipper, and more like a tinhat. Wincesters didn't usually attack people for not shipping it, that I remember.
