From the troll fauxfeminist, to the Anti-SJW troll, to some atheist dudebro trolls attacking chardmonster's weight, what the hell is going on? It's getting a bit nastier than usual, so I'm kind of wondering where all these unwelcome visitors are coming from.

I think a significant portion of it is people who think they're doing God's work by 'inciting discussion' and 'keeping the com alive' or what the fuck ever.

....I am reasonably certain the "I'm agnostic" troll from yesterday did not think they "were doing God's work" in any shape or fashion. XD

Ugh. This is one reason why I'm not getting an account. I've been with you guys from the beginning. But some of these new anons are a real bummer to deal with. :/

Doesn't read that way to me - wrong tone, wrong style. At least for most of the stuff we see. They'd do it more like Noodly does when he does his trolling thing.

Also, I think it's been said before, but it bears repeating: I'm like 95% sure that the person making the feminist quote threads is not a troll. At least not in anything close to its original meaning.

I'm not too sure about that. Any MRA or Egalitarian tumblr troll could definitely find this place and try to shit stir with a feminist strawman because they like seeing the backlash. A lot of trolls will say the opposite of their real opinion and make it look as extreme and nasty as possible because they want others to dogpile that opinion. You can even see that with trolls that start shipping wars (like MsScribe).

...There's an Anti-SJW troll? I've seen the rest but I don't think I've seen that one. Maybe they just blend in because SJW aren't popular around here in general.

I think it was maybe two days ago in the General Comments that some anti-sjw anon made an entire thread asking SJWs to argue their position to them. And then started saying that social justice activists and SJWs are the same thing.

Yeah. That was fun.

And by "fun" I mean "not fun at all".

I'm the anon in question, and I actually learned, from those who took the time to discuss it with me, that social justice and SJWs have nothing to do with one another. Which I stated. Repeatedly. But, fine, w/e, call me a troll, IDC.

I never called you a troll. I just meant it was a bit of a clusterfuck, which it was.

Sorry, wasn't aiming at you, rather those upthread who said I was trolling....Did you find it that bad? I honestly didn't, I thought there was a lot of give-and-take, and very minimal aggressive anger. Which is. Not generally the way these threads go. Plus, I changed my perspective. Always a good skill to not let go to rust, at my age. :-P

That sounds like it's coming from Tumblr, to be honest. The majority of the anti-SJ posters I've come across there can't seem to tell the difference, either.

(Which in turn feeds social justice activist's (and legit SJW-types') kneejerk suspicions of anyone using 'SJW', which makes them seem irrationally hostile in the eyes of the people who use 'SJW' less freely, which feeds both the SJA suspicions and the anti-SJ asshats using it for anything remotely progressive... basically, it's a self-perpetuating clusterfuck.)

Maybe someone who is bored and wants to stir up as many people as they possibly can. I mean, really, feminism, religion, and SJW comments - they are practically shouting "Pay attention to me!".

I'm really starting to suspect that. They're a fast way to get people angry if the OP starts out with a trollish strawman argument.
