Re: DoA racist parents...thing
2. What, exactly, gave you the impression that he set out specifically to have kids with white skin and features? Unless there was a scene I'm missing in which she states that her entire goal in life is to have children with white features, I think you're misreading the situation. They had children, and they treated the one with the whiter features better, apparently because of the whiter features.
3. This wouldn't be the first time in American history that non-white people have oppressed other non-white people for being even less white. Look up the brown paper bag test. I had a coworker who belongs to an all black sorority that used to do that

(Anonymous) 2014-01-02 07:59 am (UTC)(link)Again, if she liked whiter features better, than she wouldn't have married a black guy. This whole "she married him despite him being black" is so nonsensical. Racist people don't do that. Racism isn't like a petpeeve where they can look past eating with your mouth open or not going to church.
Re: DoA racist parents...thing
What can I tell you, that is exactly how racism works. Why do you think "I can't be racist, I have a black friend" is such a popular cliche? Heck, you can be racist against black people and be black, as my example of the sorority and the brown paper bag test demonstrates. And, guess what, there's a corresponding comb test, too.
It's apparent tht what you don't know about racism could fill a book. It's not the, pardon the term, black and white concept you make it out to be.
