Ok? I need a little more context to understand why this is a secret. Are you in a circle of people who are obsessed with the game and judge those who have no interest in it harshly? Will you be kicked out onto the streets if you don't show interest in the game? Will your partner break up with you? Is it the only thing your best friend ever talks about and you dont' want to let him/her down?

YOU HORRIBLE PERSON.

Is this a bad thing among gamers or something? I'm not a gamer, though I have heard of this and it seemed like something I'd play were I into gaming.

The Last Of Us is one of the best AAA games I've played in years and years, and I can be pretty harsh on the "latest and greatest."

Neither do I, why is this a secret?

(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 12:14 am (UTC)(link)
It's ok, you don't have to.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Same here.

Me, neither. I already suspect from what I've seen on my dash that both the main characters would grind on my last nerve, and I don't like post-apocalyptic games.

...okay? I think it has a great storyline and the two lead characters had a very well developed and realistic relationship but in the end a lot of the actual gameplay involves shooting and otherwise fighting off zombies (well, they're pretty much zombies anyway) and a lot of people just aren't in to survival/shooter games. No big deal

Then don't? I can't imagine anyone would care(unless there is some kind of 'You must play The Last of Us' group going around or something).

Secret 9 - The Last of Us (videogame)

[personal profile] transcriptanon 2014-01-03 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Picture is Ellie and Joel from the videogame "The Last of Us". She is a young teenager with light skin and long brown hair pulled back, wearing a long-sleeved ark shirt, a red T-shirt and a backpack. She is holding a rifle and looking at Joel for instructions, who is a man with light olive skin, short dark hair, mustache and beard, wearing a green shirt with the sleeves pulled back and a brown backpack. He is also carrying his own gun. He is talking and pointing at something in the direction of the camera, and touching Ellie's back in encouragement. They both look a little dirtied up. They are standing outdoors near a broken wooden fence in what seems to be a farm in the outskirts of a town or city, which can be seen in the distance. There are trees near them, at the perimeters marked by the fence, just barely off-screen. Only the branches are seen, but they are giving Ellie and Joel some shade.]

I have no interest in playing The Last of Us.

Neither do I.

I'm giving State of Decay a go though. Even though it's 3POV.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Same. Every time I say that and someone goes "BUT IT'S THE BEST GAME IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD EVER" I just want to bang my head against a wall.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
I....have more than ZERO interest in that game, but I'm not going to play it, because I am TERRIBLE (omfg so terrible) at stealth games, ya know where you spend the whole time sneaking around and if you alert anyone/thing to your presence they immediately swarm your ass and you die. I suck at it and that makes it an intensely frustrating and tedious experience for me unless it's a super terrifying horror game, so even though I keep hearing about how good it is and how many feels and the relationship between the two etc etc, I know it's not a game for me. And that's okay!

(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 10:09 am (UTC)(link)
Same here, I am downright awful at stealth-based games and don't fancy playing them at all.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
i thought the game was boring.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
tbfh both games centered around the hipster asshole ellen paige are tedious and fucking boring

[personal profile] ariakas 2014-01-03 10:06 am (UTC)(link)
I will probably play it when there's a price drop, but honestly, I am so sick of grizzled white dudes fatherhood journeys that any anticipation or excitement I had about the game died the second I saw the promos.

Also sick of zombie apocalypses.

Put the two of them together and no fucks given. Only the rave reviews have made me even want to play it second hand/borrow it from a friend. Of course, there's almost no point now, because said raving has spoiled the entire fucking plot and the ending.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-05 12:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Less zombie apocalypse, more, "this is why you don't want cordyceps to adapt to humans." Because if you know anything about how cordyceps works, The Last of Us nails it.

Have a cookie? I mean, play what you want and don't play what you don't want, it's not that hard.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-04 09:59 am (UTC)(link)
Oh God me too anon. I hate the teenage gir!sidekick trope (Leon, Kick Ass to name a few). It's such obvious paedophile fuel...Just no
