So you're really willing to put up with shitty writing to get rid of annoying fans?

Apart from Rings of Akawhatsit, which I will admit was a mess, I have seen no evidence to support those claims. Nor have I seen any evidence of the harem of slave girls the SJWs assure me he keeps in a broom closet at television centre. What I see is a different style of writing that focuses more on mythological and fairy tale themes in contrast to the more conventional space action series of his predecessor, but Doctor Who writing has always changed.

It is the secret to the show's longevity that it has been a historical/educational show, a space-thriller, a spy show, and environmental exploration show, a show of political allegories, then onto hammer horror in space, the Tom Baker/Douglas Adams comedy sketch show, a mindbender show, a violent space video nasty, a left-wing thought experiment, a US X-files clone, then a children's space adventure clone, and now bang up to date with an exploration of the more mythical themes-meta story where time travel isn't just the tool to get the cast to the adventure but an integral part of the adventure itself. I can't wait to see what it is in another few years, but I hope it is still not filled with you entitle whores bitching about how it isn't following the script within your own head, you dozy fuckers.

Wow - you really are angry that people have different tastes than you, aren't you? Kind of amazing how much you care about what other fans think, honestly.

No, I'm angry that the people with different tastes are demanding that only someone with their tastes write for the show or get to have a say in fandom. It is that people with different tastes don't want anyone else to have different tastes to them.

You're the one here's who angry at other fans and who's claiming that they should be able to determine who gets to have a say in the fandom. You started this by saying that everyone who disagrees with you needs to leave the fandom, including literally saying exactly that to someone.

Let's be honest here - no matter how much you've been watching the show, you're just a fan like everyone else watching here, and that's what's pissing you off.

No, what pisses me off is I'm not allowed to watch an episode and say that I enjoyed it without being screamed at by sjws for thinking wrong or RTD fans for saying I liked something that was in a different style. The anti-moff group are the ones that are pissed because they are just fans and don't have their grubby little protuberances on the script controls. How dare someone make a show the way they don't like it, and how dare other fans like what they don't. They must be shouted down, which is what you are doing btw trying to shout down someone that says they enjoy the current era. You are just another hypocritical sjw.

I really don't understand how you can say all this while ignoring the fact that you literally did the exact thing you're complaining about in this very thread.

But, w/e. I guess some people are just going to be irrational. I'm sorry you get so angry about all this stuff and can't just enjoy watching the show like the rest of us.

(Anonymous) 2014-01-03 01:28 am (UTC)(link)
Huh, you must have some really shitty friends. Or you are a troll. Because there are a lot of Doctor who fans on my dashboard and they can talk like rational adults about things they like and dislike.

I'm not sure how you make the link to SJW's, to be honest.

Yes, they're out there in every fandom, but most criticism I've heard on Moffat's run was a) bad character development b) unsatisfying story arcs and his inability to finish them in an even remotely satisfactory manner c)lack of emotional depth d) ignoring past canons by just explaining them with "timey wimey a,d e) just generally dumbing down the show, making it more a "kids" show than a "family" show.". None of that is SJW-related.

And yes, there has been criticism of his portrayal of women, but Davies got that too, and you don't have to be an SJW to enjoy good character writing for women.

There seems to be some kind of idea that the only way you can hate on Moffat is for feminist reasons. Personally I don't think his publicly stated misogyny comes across in the show - I still think it's really badly written.
