prepare to see your electrical bill go down like woah! (although it does depend on the brand and type of tv, but in general they do consume less electricity than old tvs)

from what I remember from when we upgraded, the "LED" ones consume less than the vanilla LCD and Plasma (like, 30% or so?), BUT, some people report they hurt their eyes, so definitely watch out for that

(I've heard similar things about Plasma, though, so, this is probably a "do your research online on brand and models" and "go try everything in every setting and distance if they let you at the store")
