You bring your own evidence to a debate. This is a stupid argument on the internet, so if you're too lazy to look up your sources that's fine, but don't try to act morally superior.

If you are using something as evidence to support your argument then it is, in fact, on you to provide the source of that evidence.

he never said that he can't it but it's still pretty obvious that he doesn't get the ship and doesn't like the idea and when asked about it he said things like:

"I mean no disrespect for people who either write or read fanfiction. I have absolutely no interest in it; it doesn't interest me. I understand how it interests other people; I respect their desire to be interested in it. I think both Kirk and Spock—and definitely me and Chris—are only good friends. Any suggestion otherwise has more to say about the person making the suggestion than it does about the characters."
