I made a secret years ago about how I was so into blood!kink in fic that I found a group of local "vampires" on the internet and went to a donor party where we all cut each other and "drank" the blood. Pretty sure it was posted as "not fandom", but I never saw the thread. I've always been curious what people's reactions were - were they grossed out or was there someone else who felt the same way I do about it? I would post it again but Case would probably mark it as a repeat. Oh well.

tbh, seems kind of a tame kink to me. I just hope everyone was tested for blood-borne diseases prior to your party and that you otherwise played safe.

ayrt

We all got razors, sterilized them and cut ourselves in whatever spot we wanted, then took turns going around the room sucking the blood out of the cuts. We signed "waivers" about disease but I really doubtthey were actually legit. Basicaly I don't know if most people would call that a tame kink, but it was hotter than anything on earth and I'm still kind of curious if anyone else in fandom has gone out and done their kinks IRL .....

....so....did any of you puke? Because actually swallowing blood will make you gag. It's an autonomic reflex. (I know this from my history of nosebleeds/sinus problems.)

Anon, if it's that important to you, and you want to repeat it, play it as safe as you'd do with any kink dealing with health endangerment: Make sure next time the person (or people) hosting/administrating the event have LEGAL PROOF everyone attending is clean from any blood-borne disease.

If you're going to a BDSM party and signing yourself to participate of an event, the Admins gotta know what kinks are you in for, what you don't like, and the safewords involved. (ex: You're a sub signing up for impact play with strangers? Ok. The involved people need to know if you like paddles and whips but go into a panic attack if someone hits you with a cane; whether you prefer one Dom or multiple Doms; what your safeword is; etc).

If you're doing bondage with a partner, safewords and a scissor near to cut the rope in case of emergency.

If you're doing impact play that might break the skin (re: heavy whipping or canning), safewords and a first-aid kit nearby so treatment of the wounds can be promptly given during aftercare.

Even vanilla intercourse needs its precautions - whether it's condoms, dental dams or latex gloves.

Basically, if you're sharing your body with someone in any way; well. Being smart about it it's only logical.
