I don't think people ever really leave a fandom, they're just inactive until they meet up with another person who shares that passion and then they have their own little corner of fandom. But I don't believe it has any age restrictions. They might be too busy to participate like they used to.

This is how I've always done things in fandom. :D
Also, take it from a 25 year old: 25 is young! But I think it's also one of those ages where people get a kick out of thinking they're ~so mature~, so there's a lot of posturing and bragging about being, like, totally a real grownup now. Bah. :/
