I don't feel that way about older fans, but if the fans I'm talking to are far younger than me, there are just some things that I have to change the subject on.

Like when they want me to sympathize with their parents sending them to bed before midnight. It's so hard not to say "well, if I was your mother, I'd make you go to bed at 9pm like I had to growing up.". Things like that. Especially when the person IS young enough to be my daughter/granddaughter.

There are just certain things that being older and having more life experience puts a different perspective on, but you also know that trying to share that experience is a virtually worthless comparison because they have no/little basis. (Like the old saying: "If you want an answer, ask a teenager. They know everything." I know when I was a teenager, I wholeheartedly agreed with that statement, but now that I'm far beyond my teen years, I know what a silly kid I was back then. ;)
