1) I am confused.

2) I will laugh until I piss if they make a third one.

3) I am still really fucking confused that shot is from the international version and the summary makes no sense. What is going on?

This secret is definitely from the Nova Crystallis FF news site. They often use screencaps for the game in question that don't really have to do with the specific details mentioned in their articles. It's just to give some context, I'm guessing.

The summary is for Final Fantasy X-3 (blech tbh). There is nothing set for it officially, but there is some talk that it might happen if the demand for it is high enough. Just SE looking for new ways to rake in some cash, so nothing new for them.

Ooooookay. I thought maybe the OP had been tricked by someone passing off the international version as a third game.

I honestly don't see there being enough of a demand for it but maybe I'm wrong. True, SE looking for cash isn't new. Them not trying to do something interesting is also not new. All companies want money. It's just be nice if SE tried for something a large percentage of people wanted. (Though I will admit they sometimes strike gold.)

Thank you for explaining it to me anyway.

Agreed on your second point! I wish I could be surprised by any of this.

If they tried for something a large percent of people wanted, we'd only be getting FF7 and nothing but FF7.

Since they're both on the same level of impossible, anon would want a FF9 HD remake before a FF7 one, honestly... But when I haven't seen people demanding even more FF7 stuff, I've seen FF8-2 mentioned as a thing fans seem to want. I had no idea it was gaining that kind of traction again.

We'd probably get more FF4 things before any of that, tho.

I would like to throw my support in for the FFIX remake.

Also, I had no idea the FFVII support was bulging again either.

/high-fives

I would say younger/newer fans are causing a possible resurgence, but I've been around FF fandom long enough to suspect it may also be people being contrary and disliking whatever S-E chooses to focus on, regardless whether they liked the current game or not.

Doesn't apply to anyone here, thankfully. This thread made anon happy, scary as the X3 stuff is c:

*High-five*

Ha, both of these could be true. I tend to stay out of fandom for FF because I don't know why but... I just don't understand them most days.

Well, I'm glad you're happy.

I am replaying FFIX right now and remembering why this game was sooo good. I'd like an HD remake, but I would have liked a remake of FF9 in general if this was the Square-Enix before 2006ish. I don't know, I just don't like what they're doing right now and I feel like if they ever revisited FF9's world - remake or not - the plot and characters would get sillier and nonsensical. >

Anon agrees, which is why I'm mostly okay that it's impossible anyway. I love IX sooo much, but even though most of their re-releases seem to have been decent, stuff like this is still discouraging. They also have a problem with picking up lots of projects without finishing the ones announced beforehand.
