I hear a lot about this but I've never actually come across it myself. I'm even on tumblr and still, nothing.

Hmm, strange, I come across it a lot. Especially for shows like SPN, Sherlock, etc

Ah that could be it. I have no interest in a lot of the most popular fandoms, like those.

Same. Are there links or something OP can give us to show it's really prevalent as they say or do we have some exaggeration happening here?

Look for yourself, a popular one is SPN. Cas is Asexual/Gay posts or Dean is Gay/Bisexual posts. Have fun+

Considering I'm in neither of those fandoms, they're not easy to find. If you or OP want to provide some links for context that'd be lovely but I'm not scrounging through the tags to find a popular post that fits your complaint when I have yet to see such as you complain about at all. Which I should be able to find easily if they were as spammed as you say.

You're the one who wants to know, you find them. You can't expect someone else to do your research for you.

If you're going to be making a claim like this, it would help your argument to provide support for it. Being rude like that to the anon with a "google it!" response is something SJWs always use too.

It's also something that people who are tired of doing research for random internet anons say.

NAYRT, but my sis has sent me many the Castiel links. I used to watch SPN, not so interested in it these days, but still enjoy watching the kerfuffles from afar.

Here's a small sampling - an article about an SPN co-star, and the comments get wanky: http://tvline.com/2013/09/23/supernatural-season-9-shannon-lucio-cast-castiel/

I think it depends on the fandom.
