How did John react? (Not up to the task of watching the ep, but curious about this part all the same).

It's not really because of the way he reacted, more like the way it was handled in the episode. There was never really a moment in which I felt they connected the way they did in the previous eps. I'm not sure if it was because the actors are not into it anymore or just plain bland writing.

Anyway, short description: John got angry, punched Sherlock in the face a lot (which he deserved I guess), and after a while went back into the loop. They bonded again over a defused bomb or whatever. It all felt pretty much sterile to me.
