I'm seeing nothing but praise for 3.01 on tumblr so I think it's unpopular. At first I was enjoying it, but then it went on and on and became apparent that there was no plot, just a jumble of scenes designed to make us laugh at characters for being "pitiful" (ie, having unrequited crushes or survivor's guilt or PTSD) and ship-baiting that would immediately be made into a joke. No character development, no plot advances. A joke.

I'm wondering if Moffat and Gatiss aren't actually geniuses and will later come back and say SEE THIS IS WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF WE GAVE YOU WHAT YOU WANTED TUMBLR but honestly I don't think so.
It just came off as a mockery of the series.
