Why do you think it sucks? Genuinely curious, since I know people on both sides of the argument, and they tend to value very different things in their games.

This isn't a personal opinion, actually. If you ask what I think of Metal Gear as a series I'll tell you I hate it. However, I have quite a few friends in the MGS fandom - reasonably leftist, queer-positive, ljer types - who seem to have universally panned it for being a cheap, shameful cash grab. The biggest thing I've heard them complain about is that it doesn't feel like Metal Gear.

Kind of like Dirge of Cerberus, or FFX-2.

It's not even developed by Konami, so no, it's not going to feel totally like a Metal Gear game. Hell, even then, if it had been LEFT in Konami's hands (as MGS: Rising), it would have been worse than it really was. It was a mess when it was handed to Platinum, who's better known for gameplay like MGR's.

And no, it's not like the MGS series (stealth), but it's not an MGS game. It's a Metal Gear game. After MGS4, why would I want to play Raiden the way I'd play Snake?

I'm a Metal Gear Solid fan and it's not a cash grab at all. Anyone who complains that it doesn't feel like Metal Gear has completely, solidly missed the fucking point.

It's like I said - it's not supposed to be a MGS game anyways. That's why they dropped 'Solid' from the title. It's still a Metal Gear in every way.
