I do something similar with fanvids, except I try to imagine how the characters of the source material would react to the vid*. Would they understand what's going on? What would they think about what they see?

* This can get into headcanon territory as well. For example, I ship Natasha/Steve in the MCU, so how would Steve's friends and comrades (especially Peggy) react to finding out that this is the woman he ends up with?
