Re: How is the cold treating you?

Maybe it's because I'm always cold, but yesterday I decided to do the grocery run AFTER everyone who was trying to beat the wind chill did theirs, and it was -9 with a wind chill of like -35... and it did not feel appreciably different than 20 with a wind chill of 10. However, when I got into my car and adjusted the rearview mirror, I did see visible icicles inside my nose.

So the cold wasn't a problem. Getting off my street was. I got stuck once trying to get out of my driveway onto the street, got stuck again trying to turn off my street onto the cross street, and then got stuck again trying to get back into my driveway after getting the groceries. Fortunately I have cool neighbors, one of which has a truck with a tow rope, so they pulled me out the first two times, and the third time grabbed a shovel and helped me dig around my tires, then gave me a push as I gunned it and at least made it off the street and a LITTLE ways into my driveway.

After that, have stayed inside in fleece pajamas and mostly snuggling in a heated waterbed. Unfortunately the guy who was supposed to activate my cable TV service also saw my driveway for the trap it was, so we wound up rescheduling that for tomorrow morning... I was hoping I'd have cable while hiding away. ;) Oh well.

Hmmm fleece jammies and a heated waterbed sounds delightful right now. I have a fake fireplace that is on, blankets and a kitty.
