My grandmother passed away last month. She was a huge Green Hornet fan, and was proof that fangirlism runs in my blood- she used to write 'home stories' in her journals about Britt and Kato, living out extremely domestic lives together. I took her to see the reboot and while she loved it, she made a point to tell me how much different it was compared to the old versions, and how she preferred Gordon Jones over Van Williams, and while Bruce Lee personally her favorite Kato, Jay Chou was 'cuter'. But if there was one thing she was certain of, it was that she would always recognize The Green Hornet, no matter what version it was, so I figure if you're a huge fan, you'll be quick to catch onto familiar elements no matter what.

Augh, I miss her. I was allowed to keep all of her journals (she had TONS of them) and I've just now started reading through them- she shared a couple of her favorite stories with me years ago but I didn't pester her too much about the others. She wrote pure, utterly indulgent fluff, I swear I developed cavities. I almost want to transcribe them online so there will always be a copy of them just in case something happens to her journals. I don't think I'll ever get over the fact that my 92 year old grandmother was a slash writer, lol.

I'm so sorry for your loss but oh my god this is possibly the best comment I've ever read. Your grandmother sounds like a pretty awesome person and I'm glad you were able to bond with her like that. That's honestly just a really cool story.

If you do end up transcribing any of the journals, I'd love if you could share a link around here.

Another person that would love for you to transcribe them and put them up on AO3 or ffnet or anywhere! I'm not even a Green Hornet fan; I just love the idea of her ideas living on.

You'll have to come up with a cool username for her too :)

transcribe them to keep them, definitely. you don't even have to share them, just make sure theyre safe.

if you think it would be in her honour and if she wouldn't mind if they were shared, you might as well make them public. fans and nonfans alike would probs be overjoyed to read them (vintage) and i'm sure that actual fans themselves would be hella excited!!!

youve got such a cool opportunity and your grandma sounds like such a neat lady! i wish you all the best.
