Legitimate question - do you have some form of face blindness?

(Also, the Pacific Rim characters are meant to be brothers. So, you know. Casting.)

Raleigh and Chuck aren't brothers, that's who I meant.

No, I really don't have face blindness, at least not IRL. I'm actually pretty good with remembering faces. Sometimes in movies and TV it happens, with people who have that perfect-Hollywood-face-symmetry thing going on.

Ah, gotcha.

I do think it's a failure in American casting that there is a serious lack of distinctive features - everyone has to look so perfect, and a very narrow definition of perfect at that. IRL (for me, at least), it's the little imperfections that make people appear fascinating and/or attractive.

Yeah, I think a lot of it is that Hollywood does tend to pick people with similar looks and that people in movies and TV have to be a certain level of attractiveness. They're not the only ones with this problem, though. There are a couple of Bollywood actresses that I have trouble telling apart sometimes.

(No they're not. I mean, not if who you replied to means the generic hero one and the generic asshole one. They're not even from the same country.)

AYRT

Yes, I was confused about who OP was referring to, and OP clarified upthread.
