It was a burden to a twenty year old who had already been charged with keeping the world safe, who had actually been brought back from the dead to continue to keep the world safe and make her friends feel better about what they did and work a job and try to be mother, father and sister to an emotionally vulnerable 15 year old who was bearing her own burden of not being 'real', all the while dealing with depression.

So the decision to take away her only real source of emotional strength and fatherly love? Not the best thing the writers could have done to her. But then the writers really did their best to shit on Buffy in s6.

She could always have turned to her actual father who was alive and well and living a few miles away in L.A.

Plenty of lower-class kids have to handle a lot more than Buffy. basically the whole moral of that was princess falls on hard times, cry me a river.

Your 'poor me, i grew up poor' chip is showing and - Hank was pretty much 100 percent out of their lives from the get-go, why in the world would she turn to *him*? He didn't even come to Joyce's funeral.

Did you watch the show or are you just persisting in your ignorance to be trollish?

Hank Summers had been absent from Buffy's life for years before her mother died. They couldn't even reach him in Spain during Forever, to let him know they were planning Joyce's funeral and his girls were effectively parentless. He lived in LA at the start of S2 but after that, it's anybody's guess where he went after that. This is why Buffy leaned on Giles, why she asked him to take her to an ice skating show for her 18th birthday in s3, because her real father didn't want the job.

But facts kind of get in the way for you, am I right?
