9. fanon!Itsuki > canon!Itsuki, sadly enough. I love him for the POTENTIAL he has. I keep waiting for there to be a novel centering on him, because it could be potentially sexyawesome, because we know NOTHING ABOUT HIM.

I know! I don't care if it was for humor, that...was a pretty horrible thing to do. And I don't mind it when characters do things like that, as long as it's treated how it should be by the story. Which it wasn't. Which made the story seem filled with badly-written martyrs. Which is why I no longer like it.

Yeah, it didn't start off very well. The only character I cared about was movie-film-aficionado kid, and I didn't find out what happened to him since I walked out of the theater. :/ (I think it was the part where the main guy and girl were all "We can't ever be together~ BUT OH SHI- WE BOTH HAVE AIDS! 8D") It was so... BAD. XD

I know it's just my opinion, and people love it, but MAN I hated RENT.

I haven't listened to the soundtrack in so long (and I have no desire to do it again), but I remember actually LISTENING to the lyrics once rather than singing along and going, "Wait...what?"

Oh, I remember Maureen's public speech thing being pretty weird. It's a metaphor, I understand, but a metaphor for what? What the hell did all that even mean?

It means Maureen was batshit crazy.


But some of the songs had some pretty good lyrics, I felt. La Vie Boheme I still consider one of the wittier songs in a mainstream Broadway musical.

La Vie Boheme was another song I couldn't decipher. But that's probably just me being dumbshit at interpreting symbolism. (I tend to struggle in literature class.) But it wasn't just the lyrics that eventually turned me off, so.

...La Vie Boheme is a pretty straightforward song. >_> At least I don't see much symbolism in it. It's about praise for the Bohemian life (follies, flaws and all) and that's sort of exactly what's in the lyrics :P

When I was little, I wrote off any lyrics I didn't get as being about drugs or meds. I was mostly right!

And agreed with the commenter above. In that case, lack of sense was the point.. it's Larson nicely mocking performance art's insanity.
