Not sure if this counts but, Cable/Deadpool. Sort of. The ship is popular, but it's not the massive ubiquitous thing I expected it would be. There's much more Spideypool on both AO3 and tumblr, which I find somewhat baffling since there's much more canon evidence for Cablepool than Spideypool.

(And yes, I'm aware that Deadpool has canonically flirted with Spider-Man, but doesn't he flirt with pretty much everyone?)

I like Cablepool too but isn't it because of whose interacting with who more currently? Most of Cablepool's most important shipping moments happened years ago and a lot of Spideypool shipping moments are happening now. Also, Cable is not considered as attractive to most people as Spider-Man is. (As far as I can tell with current male beauty trends.)

But but... Cable is so hot. :< And I mean this seriously, I find him utterly *____*.

Though I love the arc where he's baby!Cable too, because he's so adorable.

there's also more evidence for peter/johny or even peter/matt. but from my outsider understanding, this has very little to do with comics. i thought spideypool in its current popular fancreations form is a product of MCU steve/tony's popularity and how MCU fandom "adopted" peter parker as a son figure.

That weirds me out too. I mean cable at least sort of reprocitates his feeling a bit. Spiderman doesn t seem to care for deadpool that much

I figure it's just because the Cable/Deadpool relationship is sort of old news at this point. A lot of the juicy Spider-man/Deadpool interactions are much more recent.
