I was very surprised that Newt/Hermann is the juggernaut in Pacific Rim.

I was pleasantly surprised at that. I didn't like the main character and the Australian rivally guy much, but I totally assumed they were going to be the thing.

I ship it and I was surprised by it's popularity, I thought Chuck/Railegh was going to be The Fandom Ship.

I though Chuck/Raleigh was going to be The Fandom Ship, with two white guys being all full of rivalry and UST, but it seems like they love Mako way too much for that.

On the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised for how popular Newt/Herman was. I guess plenty of people felt identified with them, and liked them enough to ship it hard ^^ Which is pretty nice.
