It's one of the best in Nu!Who, I think - a monster episode that isn't really about the monster at all. (This is why "Blink" didn't work for me - it relied too much on the horror/suspense element and not enough on interpersonal stuff.) Though these episodes can get goofy at times, they ask some interestingly deep questions and are wonderful for characterisation. Everone gets their moment in the spotlight, from the crew to Ten and Rose. There are so many lovely exchanges.

(Plus, "Tell her... oh, she knows" is one of the finest, most beautifully concise pieces of writing I've ever seen in anything, ever. It tugged my heartstrings far more than any melodrama, and I'm not even a shipper.)

Blink bored me so much. Actually, the Weeping Angels bore me because they seem so easy to defeat. They can't look at each other but they can't move while someone looks at them? Ok, so call up your friends, get a big group, have part of the group watch the statues and the other half can move them so that the angels look at each other and forever freeze.

Problem solved.
