I'm perpetually confused by what is and isn't popular in Mass Effect fandom - aside from the canon Shepard ships, anyway.

But Javik/Liara, for one - it's got a decent following I guess but it baffles me how many people never even considered it until they saw it in fanworks. I guess I can forgive that if you're romancing Liara, but otherwise? It seemed so obvious to me that I can't believe how many people don't see it at all.

On the "why is this popular" side - well, not that it's popular, but I'm consistently baffled and vaguely disappointed that Kal'Reegar/Veetor is a thing. literally any other quarian slash ship would make more sense and involve characters I find more interesting.... oh well.

Yeah that's true. Still, he can get some decent character development, depending on what Shepard does with him. At the very least, I think it should be popular as a hateship, because even when they can't stand each other they've got some great chemistry imo

Oh, man, I shipped Javik/Liara SO HARD. And my main Shep was a Liara romancer.
