Re: IPad vs Kindle Fire (HD)
If she browses a lot, I'd go towards an iPad. iPads are good browsing machines and are made for internet usage. However, e-readers are better to actually read books on. They don't strain your eyes as much (I've found) as iPads. E-readers are also better for night time, as an iPads glow can affect your sleep cycle/drowsiness level. Something about the light makes your body think it's still day or something.
E-readers also have updates. Software updates. Of course, those can be manually set as well.
But if you think the Kindle HD will do, go for it? I mean, it is cheaper and if your mom doesn't do way too much internet stuff, it will probs be alright.
