ETA: So, I had clicked the link and then left the tab open for a bit, so I didn't see that you even had responded until after I posted my reply.

I am sorry, OP, that your family isn't treating you right. However, having no idea what "not treating you right" means for you, I do have to ask if these character comparisons are actually such a big deal, or if they're just an excuse for you to finally cut yourself off from your family. Because if it's the latter, then hey, more power to you. But if it's the former...then yeah, I think that at the very least it speaks as much about how you see and think of yourself as they think of you.

Though I will add that if they've been treating you in such a way as to leave you unable to speak to a cashier, then perhaps you should consider seeking some form of professional help, because that level of dependency and insecurity is anywhere from extremely unhealthy to flat out dangerous.
