I like this too, and not just because The Damn Cat snuck behind the couch and jumped on me just when the voice was saying "Don't look behind you," scaring me out of my skin.

It just pushes a bunch of my buttons (in a good way): the writing on the skin, the idea of language that the Tardis can't translate, the security guy who doesn't make it and asking the guy at control to shut off his oxygen first, Rose trying to connect to the Ood about food service jobs, the moment she jumps up and punches the ceiling, Rose generally being a BAMF. . .in the second half I was definitely more interested in Rose's escape plans than the Doctor chatting up the Beast. (I'm more or less neutral on Rose--although the stuff that makes me less enthusiastic definitely feels like writing inconsistencies rather than organic character issues--but this was an early episode I saw of ANY Doctor Who and I really liked her in this one.)
