But might I direct you to the song "Part Of Your World" and the fact that it was sung before Ariel knew who Eric was? She was obsessed with the surface world.People always seem to forget that part.
I mean I'm not saying you have to like her or anything, but just that her interest in the surface world has already existed , and Eric was probably just one reason on top of many that she made her choice. and I also get the feeling that the real conflict of the movie was actually between Ariel and her father. When you look at it from that perspective that it was Ariel chasing independence it sort of puts a new light on things, imo at least.
But hey, you're entitled to your opinion and that's cool. I apologize if I seemed rude.

I see this "she did it for a boy she hardly knew" stuff over and over again and it gets on my nerves sometimes.
