I love Uggs.

there's a lot to be said for Uggs when you're having daytime highs in the single digits.

Also, in my neck of the woods when the cold comes, there is invariably a ~humor column in the paper in which some man gripes and moans about how the worst part of winter is being Forced to Look at Women in Unsexy Footgear for the next 5 months. To spite such persons, I am very much in favor of Uggs, even though they are not strictly the fashion now.

As a desert child who has moved to a place that actually gets cold, I love anything that will keep me warm at this point.

Do they actually work? As a person who grew up in snowy climates I've always thought they looked like they were more fashionable than functional and that they wouldn't be very warm for long. Though I've never tried them.

I live in central Iowa, where it gets good and cold, and I don't think Uggs would be as popular as they are (still) if they weren't warm.

I live in Maine and they never seemed to catch on and are pretty much gone now. Interesting.

They work well enough for me, but I also layer socks and I can't honestly say I've owned "proper" warm footwear before (all of my boots have been purely for style and not very well-made anyway). Real winter shoes probably work better, but where I live now doesn't really get snow or anything, just... wind. And far lower temperatures than I'm used to.

They are good for those winter days when it's too cold to snow. Of which we get plenty hereabouts.

I love my uggs too anon. So comfy.

Related, I just bought fuzzy crocs to wear at work because my feet are so cold (sadly uggs aren't work appropriate). I still think they're ugly but they're comfy and my toes aren't freezing so I love them

Wait, this is a confession? It's practically Australia's national footwear, next to the thongs (flipflops) and boots.
