I really don't have a problem with atheism. I have a problem with militant atheism and smug self-righteous 'I am better than those stupid religious people' bs.

I don't see that being much different from the superiority that comes from deeply religious people. Everyone who believes a thing thinks that their thing is the right thing.

This. Plus for the most part, smug atheists can be avoided for the most part since most of them are being smug on the internet. Smug religious people are fucking everywhere though both offline and online.

That vastly depends on where you live. I meet smug atheists on the internet and IRL more often than smug religious people anywhere.

No, I don't feel superior to other people who are superstitious. I recognize that most people believe in luck and fate to some extent and I don't feel that believing in astrology is vastly different from having a good luck charm, or experiencing a 'miracle', or believing in ghosts, or anything else. I don't think it makes someone inferior to me if they believe in the same kind of shit that the majority of humans throughout time have believed in.

Yes. Yes, I do. And yet I don't equate people's faith and spirituality with the belief in mysterious future-seeing magics. That would make me a dick, like the OP is complaining about.
