Is it...bad to get your ideas from Tumblr?

I mean, it's your words that you're putting together. Sentences that you came up with. So the motivating idea wasn't something that dropped into your head from the sky. So what? No one else is ever going to write that fic the way you did. No one else is ever going to interpret that Tumblr post the way you did, and the fact that you can interpret it and put it into a story that people like makes you a great, original writer.

I agree. People worry too much about having an entirely original idea and don't realize that all the little details that come with the hard work of actually writing it will make the final product into something personal and unique.

This, right here. Ideas are a dime a dozen, and execution is everything. The worst idea ever can be great with beautiful execution, and the best most original idea ever can be absolute shit with horrible execution.
