Michael is innocent because he died before the FBI could actually do anything. Reading all the files that have been released there is no question that he was a pedophile but people will forever say he was innocent.

Though I have come across plenty of people who say Polanski is innocent and it was entrapment so even people who admit their guilt are still called innocent too.

The girl's mother was also a monster, though, and I almost never see it brought up that,iirc, she basically sold her daughter to him. That doesn't make Polanski any less guilty, it just means two people took horrible advantage of this girl.
