imo being able to "hit a sweet spot" makes you good, but there are different definitions of good. There's nothing wrong with wanting to branch out and improve, but there's nothing wrong with being able to write what people like. I think you should try to balance the two.

I don't think it's strange at all. Slenderman's a horror fantasy (I'm not a horror fan, but I can respect those that are), some guy causing harm to you and your family like the guy in your Secret's picture is a very realistic fear, and one that's sadly realized in many places everyday. So, I don't think your weird nor alone for having that type of reaction.
