I read a lot of Ginsberg in my youth, so I'd have to say, Yes, it seems he was into minors. He mentioned his attraction to teenaged youths in many poems, so that comes from the horse's mouth. He never mentioned boys, to my knowledge, but if you're me, teens are children. So that's my take on it. Back when I was into his poetry, I would not hear it, made up convoluted excuses for the verses and his association with the group, but now that I'm grown up, I get that his writing was great but that he was pretty skeevy himself.

I never said he wasn't skeevy. I wouldn't know. My exposure to Ginsberg is limited to one reading of "Howl" 10 years ago. His style is not my thing, so I haven't read anything else. You have obviously read his work, and if that's your conclusion, I have no problem with that. You've done more research than I have, clearly.

The problem is that so many people take what they read online as fact. Look at the comments on this thread - several people bemoaning that Ginsberg is a pedophile because someone (anonymously!) said he was. If they all went and researched it before coming back to comment, I have no issues. More power to them. But I suspect several didn't. I'm encouraging OP and the others in this thread to look into something before accepting it as truth.
