Eh, I don't mind it. He's a nice dude who respects his fans and on the rare occasion he's made a gaffe, he actually made a sincere apology (I honestly don't even remember what the post that got removed said anymore). It doesn't really wig me out me with actors interact with their fans because I've never bothered trying to pretend that they weren't aware of their fandom. It's like some people think they can't use the internet or something

Yeah, actors are people and are perfectly capable of being fannish and geeking out over things and getting star-struck over other actors. Some may have even been in fandom before becoming actors or becoming famous. Even those who aren't inclined towards fandom may still be capable of understanding how fandom works and not getting super shocked/offended/scandalized/confused over the more extreme elements.

I don't think it's so much the idea that they can't use it or find fandom stuff, but this image that they purposely avoid it? I think most people just assume they hire interns or w/e to scour the internet for anything important, or that they know about it in general but try to stay away. So it's not so much a matter of "they can't ever see this thing!" but rather "they probably won't go looking for this thing". (That said, I cannot comprehend the idea of tweeting your favorite actors/showrunners with creepy fanfic/fanart/shippy questions, so... no idea about that)

This comment has a lot of words for not saying very much. /slinks off
