So a portion of fandom was represented on telly by someone who could have been one of their own, and they were offended. Quelle surprise! And if the actress had been skinny and hot they probably would have complained about plus sized people being underrepresented. Casting directors can't win, can they.

THIS. They used her to make fun of Anderson. Not of fat slash fans. She didn't take herself seriously and proved to be a good sport. Why is that so offensive?

People keep saying this but no one can actually give a reasonable explanation of WHY they think that except "BUT SHE'S FAT AND LIKES SLASH!!!11!" That is not "being treated like a joke," especially considering that most of the rage seems to come from the "SHE WAS FAT" part.

The show treats her like a crazy joke. The whole tone is 'ha ha look at this moron'.

Except it doesn't, she's quite calm and reasonable while Anderson flails around.
