In response to my telling them that the dictionary differed with them on the academic definition of racism (prejudice + power) being the ONE AND ONLY CORRECT DEFINITION of racism and no one being allowed to call anything racism that doesn't fit the academic definition. I guess dictionaries are all racist now and we are not allowed to refer to them ever?

That's not even the fucking academic definition in any sort of universal sense.

My dissertation was on post colonial theory+feminism and they didn't use that meaning (that would be what they generally institutional racism).

Yeah it is more the academic definition of one woman in her book that was taken over by tumblr and is now filtering into the real world.

I got a similar one. Someone I follow was arguing that there are many definitions of racism and the other person was arguing that the dictionary doesn't count. Their reason? Because the dictionary still defines faggot as a bundle of stiicks. Which....no. unless your dictionary is from the 60s. Hell some don't even mention the bundle of sticks definition anymore.
