Heard any lately?

I had someone yell at me for being fat. Like "Hey fatso! God, you're fat" while I was walking down the street. I'm a little overweight, not morbidly obese.

Twice last fall I had assholes in passing cars scream "Go back to Mexico!" at me. I'm not even Latina, so I have no idea where that came from.

A few years back, I had a woman yell some pretty nasty homophobic things at me. I realize I don't exactly go around wearing a button that says "I'm straight" but the fact that I was alone and not, to the best of my knowledge, wearing or doing anything that would suggest "lesbian"* made it very strange that she would leap to that conclusion. I think the fact that she was probably drunk and her boyfriend/husband/male companion might have been eying me up had something to do with it.

*Whatever that would even be. The lesbians I've known are all pretty different.

I am pretty significantly overweight and I still think that's a stupid remark. Do they think I don't know?

Possibly they think the fat attacked you and attached itself overnight without you realizing anything was happening. Like the Doctor Who episode with the baby fat aliens, only in reverse.

My English professor said that women have won, we're no longer oppressed so just let it go. I'm not sure if he was joking or not but it definitely soured me towards him, haha.

He also said (on a completely different day) that no one loves you as much as they love themselves and really, whether humans are even capable of loving each other is a good question...so I don't know if he just has a very dry, dark sense of humor or what.

Well he sounds lovely.

Also: If a boss rewards and punishes his employees (according to performance, company policy, ect), that's corruption!

And no - we don't know where the last one come from since we'd been talking about grain prices after the civil war before that.

I read on tumblr that one of the reasons why Frozen is flawed is because Sven the reindeer didn't act like a real reindeer. (He was dog-like in the movie.) What went through my head was, "Disney had a crab conducting an underwater orchestra/choir and you are upset about a reindeer acting like a dog?"

In response to my telling them that the dictionary differed with them on the academic definition of racism (prejudice + power) being the ONE AND ONLY CORRECT DEFINITION of racism and no one being allowed to call anything racism that doesn't fit the academic definition. I guess dictionaries are all racist now and we are not allowed to refer to them ever?

Yeah. The woman in front of me in line the other day at the Dollar store, asking if the sippy cup she was buying looked 'red' or 'pink' to me. I said it looked kinda pinky-red (it did), and she said she didn't like to buy 'chicky' stuff for her little boy.

It's a sippy cup, lady, not a fucking vagina. Relax.

My coworker was complaining that imgur.com (I think) had been "taken over" by girls and now he can't make sexist jokes without getting yelled at.
