Heard? No. Read? Yep.

I read on tumblr that one of the reasons why Frozen is flawed is because Sven the reindeer didn't act like a real reindeer. (He was dog-like in the movie.) What went through my head was, "Disney had a crab conducting an underwater orchestra/choir and you are upset about a reindeer acting like a dog?"

You have never been to a shellfish orchestra? Those lobsters are great on the stringed instruments.

Especially on the bass! And they claim you can't tuna fish...

Oh, well done, good sir/madam! Well done, indeed!

Well, I agree that we shouldn't expect realistically portrayed animals in Disney movies, but the "All animals are dogs" gets a bit old...

I would normally agree except I found it kind of fit with Sven, because from the impression I got, Christof raised him, so while yes his 'dog-like' qualities were surely over-exaggerated in the film, it probably wouldn't be too out of character for an animal raised as a pet to be well... acting like a pet.

Buy why does "acting like a pet" always equal "acting like a dog"? Wouldn't it have made more sense for Sven to act more like a pet horse in this case?

That I can't answer, I have no idea how pet horses act. XD I'm guessing the designers/writers assume 'pet dog' is more relatable than 'pet horse' and 'pet cat' wouldn't work at all.

This. Why is the default "Friendly Animal Behavior" always to stick their tongue out, pant, wag their tail, prance in circles for attention, fetch, and point like a trained birding dog - regardless of what species they actually are?

Well, I loved Sven because he acted exactly like my rabbit, so I guess my rabbit acts like a dog! I don't know where she picked that up from, though, seeing as she's never met one.

So, they were OK with the magic and the ice queen and the TALKING SNOWMAN WITH A DEATH WISH and the fact that apparently no one's been running Arendelle for like 3 years - and they object to the reindeer? Wow.

Same!anon.

Reread this and it sounds bitchy and kinda angry - I enjoyed every minute of Frozen, but I nitpick the things I love.

I thought the reason most people weren't thrilled about it was because that was pretty much what the horse in Tangled acted like so it was a bit too repetitive? I dunno, it's not like the reindeer played that prominent a role anyway.
