I have no idea, either. I made a joke about roleplaying Brett's Holmes because of her initials and she said that she'd never roleplay him because BC is so much better. I sighed dramatically (still thinking we were joking) and said that BC would never be Holmes as long as people still remembered Brett's performance. I'll admit that was pretty condescending, but at worst I thought I'd get a remark about being tasteless.

Yeah I'd expect a snippy or snarky response to that, not a pen in the arm. Though I wouldn't get bent out of shape if it was said to me, I like the BBC version but it's not my favourite(I'm not sure what is tbh I seem to enjoy most Sherlock Holmes adaptations equally).
