I dislike Macklemore's music - I'm not a fan of the entire genre, honestly. But I also greatly appreciate his activism, and some of his other standpoints (i.e. calling out his producers for ridiculously marking up merchandise, advocating pirating for people who can't afford his music, etc). I'm glad he exists and that he's around, and that someone like him is so popular. I don't like his music, but I sure as hell like him.

That's what the straight people who theoretically support gay rights on Tumblr tell me. I've seen some criticisms of Macklemore from gay people and I can see where they're coming from but I've also seen straight people go way over the top in their defense of him. Maybe they are seeing much different criticisms than I am?

There are some really god damn stupid people who hate him for the stupidest reasons I've ever heard. Basically, for not being an ally in the exact way they want him to be.

It's honestly incomprehensibly dumb, so completely devoid of any sort of sensible logic or reason it's kind of amazing, even for SJW shit.
